Hello! My name is William or simply Will. I have been a lover of languages and other cultures since high school where I studied Spanish and French which allowed me to see beyond what I knew in my small hometown in western New York. Before starting my higher studies, I traveled around Europe and lived in Australia for a year enriching my perspective of the world. After giving two colleges and different programs a try, I finally decided on studying Spanish Translation at Hunter College.
At Hunter, I completed an independent study in medical translation, was editor of a senior student’s translation of a book as part of her internship, translated the subtitles of two Spanish-language plays in New York City with my classmates and did my internship at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain) where I translated their student guidebook into English. I also studied Portuguese and I was able to apply the skills I learned from my major. I started working for a company as a translator in New York a month before graduation.
I had the itch to live abroad again so in fall 2019 I moved to Madrid, Spain to take part in the language assistants program which I did for two years and at the same time became a freelance translator. Having the desire to broaden and deepen my knowledge and skills, I started the Master’s Program in Localization Project Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in fall 2024 and I plan on graduating in May 2026. I currently live in Madrid still with my two cats, Kimono and Caio. I am a curious person and a lifelong learner who enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, relearning French, video games and staying active.
